Here is the results of my survey.

I wanted to identify the habits of young people living in Le Havre concerning the cinema. I collected 57 respondents (28 men and 29 women) who are between 20 and 27 years old.Do you go to the cinema? To that question they all answer “Yes”.

How often to you go to the cinema?45, 6% among them go to cinema less than once a month whereas 35, 1 % answers that they go to the cinema once a month. Only 19, 3% go to the cinema at least twice a month. So we can say that almost 50% go to cinema less than once a month.

With whom do you do go to the cinema? 8, 8 % go to cinema alone, which represents a small part of the respondents. We notice that even if they can alone, they prefer to go with other people. So, most of them go with their friends (86%). They also go with their boyfriends or girlfriends (68, 4%) and their parents (24, 6%). This result can show that the cinema is a place where people go in order to have a good moment with close persons.

When do you go to the cinema?100 out of 100 prefer to go to the cinema in the evening. At the same time, 19,6% of them say that they go to the cinema in the afternoon. However, no one wants to go in the evening.

What sorts of films do you like seeing?Police –Thrillers (35%) and Action-Adventures (33%) films are in general the favourite films of the respondents. The respondents like also Drama films (40% of them), science fiction (34%), cartoon films (39%), war films (38 %¨) and historical films (30%). We see that they have a variety of cinematographic tastes. The only sort of cinema they will hesitate to se before they know the contents is documentaries films. In fact 40 % of them have big prejudices concerning documentaries films. They also have this attitude towards the other sorts of films, but it is a less big apprehension.

Which cinemas do you go to?31% of the respondents go very often to big complexes such as Gaumont Montivillier whereas 13% go very often to medium-size places such as UGC Avenue Foch and 9% to small cinema such as Sirius or Eden. We can also notice that they prefer big complexes cinema because only 5% say that they never go to big complexes cinema and 43% do never go to small cinemas.
